Elite athletes

Special rules apply to elite athletes who have been selected for the national squad of one of the national sporting governing bodies within the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and who train at the Olympic Training Centre (Olympiastützpunkt, OSP) in Saarbrücken and therefore need to study at Saarland University. A special quota of 2% of the total number of places is reserved for these elite athletes applying for admission to a degree programme with local entry restrictions. Applicants will need to provide documentary proof of their status as an elite athlete and certify that they are a member of the national squad for one of the focus sports at the OSP facility. Please get in touch with the OSP contact Katharina Jakob at the earliest opportunity (i.e. well before the end of the application deadline).

The 2%-quota does not apply to the degree programmes 'Medicine', 'Dentistry' and 'Pharmaceutical Sciences', for which applications for admission are administered nationally via a central allocation procedure.
