DIES AQA – Quality assurance in Central and West Africa
DIES (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) supports higher education institutions in developing and threshold countries in professionalising institutional management processes and improving the quality of study programmes. It includes training and dialogue measures for different target groups.
The DIES AQA training course aims at the sustainable development of functional structures for quality assurance in partner higher education institutions in Central Africa, which fulfil the special needs and requirements of higher education institutions. Key guiding principles are the basic ideas of participation and exchange between the partner institutions in Africa and Germany. The centre of the project is a dialogue-based approach, which significantly takes up the experiential knowledge of African partners and relates it to proven methods and instruments of quality assurance at higher education institutions in Europe and Africa.
DIES AQA is jointly coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst - DAAD) and the German Rectors' Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz - HRK), funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by Saarland University.
