What happens after the nomination?
We will send you a link to our application form by email. Please fill in your information there (name, date of birth, home address, etc.).
We will need this information to issue a letter of admission for you.
After you have entered the information, please send us an email with the following documents to mobility(at)uni-saarland.de:
- Transcript of Records from your home university
- Certificate of enrollment from your home university
- Scan of your passport
Important: in order for you to receive a letter of admission, we must receive all documents by the deadline, even if you have already been nominated!
Once all documents are complete, we will send you your letter of admission with information for online enrolment.
You can then complete your enrolment before you arrive so that your student card (UdS Card), your IT credentials and your Deutschlandticket are ready for you at the start of the semester.
When do I get my Erasmus+ scholarship?
You will receive some documents and information from us in preparation for your stay.
It is very important that you read the documents carefully and sign and return them to us when we request them from you.
With your admission you will receive a grant certificate. There you will find the exact amount of the grant. If you require a visa for your stay, you can submit the grant certificate as financial proof for the visa.
To pay the scholarship to you we need the details of your bank account to pay your scholarship. This must be an EU bank account. If you do not yet have such an account, you can open an account in Germany after your arrival and then send us the account information.
You will receive detailed information on planning your stay and all the necessary documents directly by e-mail.

You can find the Saarland University courses online in the LSF directory.
The courses for the respective semester are only published a few weeks before the semester begins. You do not need to log in to see the course lists in the LSF directory to see the classes.
You can use previous semesters as a guide to get an initial idea of the courses on offer. For example, if you would like to come next winter semester, check the courses from the previous semester in the LSF directory. The courses will not be completely identical, but it will give you a good initial orientation.
Students from all programs and all subjects can also take part in the Europaicum courses. Here you will find courses in German and English on European topics, media and culture.
Yes, we even recommend it!
As an exchange student, you have two different options for your German course:
- A study-accompanying German course that takes place one or two days a week. This course s free of charge for exchange students.
- An intensive course in the months of March or September. This course costs 180€ for exchange students.
On the ISZ Saar website you will find information on German courses in general.
An admission for Erasmus+ students is not automatically linked to the allocation of accommodation.
We therefore recommend that you read all the information we provide on the subject of accommodation. Please apply to the halls of residence of the Studierendenwerk and also contact the private accommodation providers.
You can apply for rooms at the Welcome Center, but there is no guarantee of a place
The deadlines for dormitory applications are always 15.07 for the next winter semester and 31.12 for the next summer semester.
