Chair Exchange Programme

A Transform4Europe (T4EU) Chair is a teaching position focused on topics relevant to the Alliance's priority areas. The T4EU Chair Programme involves a competitive, independent application process open to lecturers from Alliance universities active in these priority areas.
At Saarland University, the main teaching load should preferably fall under the Transform4Europe priority areas:

Societal transformation, community building, and inclusion
Digital transformation and smart regions
Environmental transformation and sustainability

Semester periods:

Winter semester: October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. The lectures in the winter term 2024/25 will take place from October 14, 2024, to February, 7, 2025
Summer semester: April 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025. The lectures in the summer term 2025 will take place from April 22, 2025 to July 26, 2025

The application deadlines are July 31 for the following winter semester and January 31 for the following summer semester.

Lectures by the T4EU Chairs can take place fully in presence or combined with online lectures. The actual ratio between physical and online workload will be determined on an individual basis. It is also possible to give the physical lectures as a bloc in Saarbrücken and the online lectures from your home country.
