Who should I contact first within the faculty?

Each faculty has contacts who can assist new professorial staff with any faculty-related questions they might have.

In fact some faculties will assign specific contacts for you to contact about specific topics. You can get in touch with them if you are ever unsure how to deal with a problem or what procedures need to be followed.

If you have not been notified about specific faculty contacts, you should notify the dean’s office at your faculty. Contact details for the dean’s office at your faculty are available here.

Your faculty and/or department will also hold regular meetings that will be of relevance to you and your work, such as professorial staff meetings, examination committee meetings, etc. We recommend that you keep in close contact with the administrative staff at your faculty and that you make use of specific faculty contacts or your mentor if they have been assigned.
