PhD Colloquium 2023

On 11 and 12 July 2023, another doctoral seminar was organised by the Jean Monnet Chair of Prof. Bungenberg. The doctoral students discussed the progress in their doctoral project. The seminar thus offered all participants an opportunity for academic exchange among colleagues in various subject areas of international economic law and international dispute resolution. The seminar was rounded off by joint lunches at the university and an external dinner, where there was further opportunity for exchange in a pleasant atmosphere. The next doctoral seminar is already planned for January 2024.

 

On June 8 and 9, 2022, a PhD Colloquium was held at the Europa-Institut within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair in International Dispute Settlement and the Rule of Law. Over the course of two days, 12 doctoral candidates, whose dissertations are supervised by Prof. Marc Bungenberg, presented their PhD projects and the current status of their work. The presentations were characterized by a great variety of topics: current developments in investment and sports arbitration, supply chain due diligence, investment screening, permanent sovereignty over natural resources, and many other topics were discussed. In addition to interesting discussions, there was also time to interact with each other over two lunches. The event was rounded off by a joint barbecue on the first evening. The next colloquium is planned for the fall of 2022.
