What? You can work at a university?

We actually get that question quite a lot. Uni = students and studying. That’s the first thing that springs to mind for most people, and quite justifiably, too. But many people don’t immediately realise that you can also work at a university and that it takes a lot of people to keep such a 'large operation' running smoothly. If they do think about people working at university, it's usually the teaching staff, researchers and professors, i.e. all those directly connected to research, students, teaching and academia. 

While this group plays a large and important role within a university, there are even more people working here across a wide range of fields and pursuing careers that one might not expect at first thought.
