Prof. Dr. David Scheschkewitz

Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry (Krupp-Professur)

Professor Dr. David Scheschkewitz

The Scheschkewitz group deals in the preparative molecular chemistry of the main group elements, in particular that of silicon. Stable unsaturated molecular compounds that can be handled under standard laboratory conditions are at the centre of our attention.

The following research topics are of special interest to us:

  • Conjugated and aromatic systems
  • Small to medium subvalent clusters
  • Coordination chemistry of low-valent ligands
  • Donor-acceptor interactions
