Prof. Dr. Christoph Becher

The Becher group conducts research in the field of quantum optics. Quantum optics deals with the interaction between light and single atoms.

Typical questions are:
How do you create single photons (light particles) to order?
Can you build a laser with only one atom?

As experimental methods we use different variants of laser spectroscopy.
