Prof. Dr. Christian Wagner

Professor Wagner's group conducts research in the field of self-organization in non-equilibrium systems and the fluid dynamics of complex fluids.

We want to understand how structures arise in dynamic systems, which can be partly ordered, partly chaotic and turbulent. Among other things, we investigate the flow behavior of complex fluids (polymers, gels or blood) or the Brownian fluctuation behavior of microscopic objects in thermal nonequilibrium. Experimental methods include particle image velocemitry, rheometry and optical tweezers.
