Research
The research of the physics working groups at the UdS focuses on three highly topical areas:
- Biophysics and soft matter physics (e.g. movement of biological cells, adhesion system of the gecko, functions of proteins),
- Solid state and nanostructure physics (e.g., nanoscale magnetic materials) and quantum technologies (information processing and transmission, and metrology using quantum physics).
- The research groups use experimental, theoretical, and computational methods. All working groups are involved in numerous national and international collaborations, which provides opportunities for short-term stays abroad in the context of research work.
