Political science | Comparative European Politics

The team of the Chair of Political Science with a focus on comparative European studies examines the nation states in Europe and the European Union from a comparative political science perspective.

For example, we look at how political content (public policies) comes about at different political levels, to what extent differences and similarities can be found in the policies of European states and to what extent these follow a certain pattern, or how European impulses affect the political processes in national political systems. We also examine the role of political actors and especially political parties, as well as the impact of structural changes in the context, for example through digitalisation, insecurity or societal change, on political decision-making.
