  • The next Math Day takes place March 15th 2025 on Campus in Saarbrücken! The programme starts at 9.30 am. The competitions and talks will be separated by a joint lunch. 

Research Interests

Teichmüller curves and Veech groups. Translation surfaces, in particular origamis. Subgroups of the automorphism group Aut(Fn) and the outer automorphism group Out(Fn). Culler-Vogtmann Outerspace, relationship between Teichmüller space and Outerspace.

The working group's research has been supported by the CRC TRR 195 (Symbolic Tools in Mathematics and their Application) since 2017. The Collaborative Research Centre has been in its third period since November 2024. Our current project is A10 “Algorithmic Approaches to Teichmüller Curves”.

 

Mathematics for the Public

Our working group is regularly involved in public relations work (Open Day, Maths Day, Unicamp). As part of this, the Pacwoman application was developed, which provides a visualisation of translation surfaces.
