Job opportunities
We are always looking for talented Ph.D. students and Postdocs who share our passion for the world of polymer materials and welcome international applications. Unfortunately, we are spammed with applications of candididates whose profiles do not match our search profile. Please only apply if your profile fully matches the following criteria.
- Ph.D. students: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Materials Science with focus in either polymer chemistry of polymer materials. This includes profound practical training, including hands-on experience in organic synthesis/polymer synthesis and analytical chemistry. (For comparison: In Germany, chemistry students spend up to 20 h/week in the lab over 10 semesters, adding up to more than 2000 hours of practical training. For Materials Science, it is roughly 1000 hours. Your practical training should be comparable to qualify for a Ph.D. position.)
- Postdocs: Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry or Materials Science (with focus on polymer materials). Extensive hands-on experience with modern polymer synthesis, characterization and/or processing techniques. (For comparison: Graduates from a German University typically have more than 5000 hours of practical training. Your practical training should be comparable to qualify for a Postdoc position.)
We are also continuously looking for chemistry students and materials science students (typically but not necessarily from Saarland University) to work with us as research assistant or interns, or would like to do their B.Sc. and M.Sc. thesis with us. In this context, please check the rules and regulations of your study program.
