Data and methods to study European politics
The course by Dr. Rosa M. Navarrete will provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the key concepts and methods used in the study of political phenomena in Europe. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will learn about the major datasets and research methods used in to analyse European politics, and they will gain practical experience in applying these methods to actual research questions.
The course will cover a wide range of topics, including public opinion, political parties, electoral behavior, and other areas of interest. In parallel, students will learn how to use R for a variety of quantitative methods to analyze data and answer research questions. Previous knowledge of R is not required.
By the end of the course, students will have gained practical experience in working with the most important datasets to study European politics and will be able to apply the methods learnt to their own research.
