Research Center for Modern Latin
The RESEARCH CENTRE FOR MODERN LATIN [Arbeitsstelle für Latein der Neuzeit] was founded in 1976 by Prof. Dr Christian Helfer, to whose Chair of Comparative European Cultural Studies it was initially affiliated. Since 2021, this research centre has been part of the Institute of Classical Philology at Saarland University.
The purpose of the CENTRE FOR MODERN LATIN is, among other things, the academic study of authors who have written works on a wide range of topics in Latin from humanism and the Renaissance to the presen[ day. The number of these authors and texts is extremely large. Latin lexicography is also closely linked to such academic research. Some of the results of this research are also published in the VOX LATINA.
