Internal Funding Program START
Ergebnisse
On July 1, eight research projects were launched as part of the new funding program at Saarland University. The university's internal funding program START has already received a remarkable response in its first round of applications: A total of 22 applications were received, twelve of which were for funding line 1, “Interdisciplinary Research,” and ten for funding line 2, “Application Preparation DFG Emmy Noether and ERC Starting Grant.”
After careful review, four projects were selected for funding in each line. The approved projects come from four different faculties – the Faculty of Medicine (M), the Faculty of Human and Business Sciences (HW), the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology (NT) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (MI) – thus underlining the disciplinary diversity of the program. The funded projects will receive start-up funding for six months to cover personnel, material, and travel costs.
The high number of high-quality applications confirms the need for a targeted instrument to support innovative and excellent research projects on our campus.
