Funding for the SaarLing project

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Tania Avgustinova’s research project SaarLing (01.05.2025-31.12.2025) is approved within the LFFP Open Call. SaarLing will contribute to the exploration of linguistic diversity in our border region. At the same time it provides scientific and practical insights for the efficient promotion of academic and everyday multilingualism in the context of social and technological transformations in Saarland. At the heart of the project is the endeavor to demonstrate the dynamics of multilateral linguistic identities through the technological improvement of one's own meta-linguistic self-awareness. Central research questions relate to the assessment of communicative strategies and cognitive capacities utilized in linguistic processing of digital formats and the role of AI technologies in meta-linguistic self-perception. During the project period, the acquisition of third-party funding is planned.
