Funding for the project “Multimodal multilingual individualized communication support (MMIK)”

The project led by Prof. Dr. Tania Avgustinova was supported by the UdS Internationalization Fund with 25,000 EUR to further develop and consolidate academic cooperation within the Transform4Europe alliance, where Dr. Irina Stenger is the contact person and coordinator for the LST department. The goal is to uncover, empirically support and dynamically shape multimodal multilingual communicative skills in students. A central concern is to optimize the individual potential for successful international and intercultural communication by facilitating the acquisition and use of several languages. Alongside personalized advancements, the research focusses on the design of multimodal teaching and learning materials by developing and strengthening multilingual skills that are beneficial for educational success as well as social integration and participation in a globalized and digitally interconnected world.
