Colonial Period
‘Caribbean Views’ presents a collection of high quality visual images (thumbnail, large and zoomable images) and texts housed in the British Library in London, representing contrasting views of life in the British colonies in the Caribbean during the 18th and 19th century. Texts include almanacs, journals, travel narratives, personal narratives of former slaves, abolitionist tracts, and occasional letters and wills.
