mit dieser E-Mail möchten wir uns kurz vorstellen und Ihnen einen kleinen Einblick in unsere Tätigkeiten geben.
Als Personalrat setzen wir uns für Sie bei allen Arbeitnehmerfragen im Hochschulbereich ein und wir beraten und unterstützen Sie als Mitarbeiter*in der UdS in Ihren Anliegen gegenüber den unmittelbaren Vorgesetzten bzw. der Universitätsleitung/ -verwaltung.
Beispielsweise

... bei allen Fragen und in Problem- und Konfliktfällen am Arbeitsplatz (individuelle Beratung, Hilfestellung und ggf. Schlichtung)

• vertreten wir Ihre Interessen

... im unmitttelbaren Arbeitsfeld (z.B. Befristungen, Personalstruktur), aber auch mittelbar in zahlreichen Gremien und Arbeitsgruppen (z.B. Arbeitsschutz, Betriebliches Gesundheitsmanagement, Betrieblichen Eingliederungsmanagement, Personalentwicklung, Promotionsordnungen, Telehomearbeit)

• informieren wir Sie

...im Rahmen der halbjährlich stattfindenden Personalversammlungen über aktuellen Themen
...auf unserer Homepage über viele wichtige Themen

Wenn Sie es wünschen, werden wir in Ihrer Angelegenheit aktiv. Selbstverständlich obliegt jede Anfrage Ihrerseits der Schweigepflicht unsererseits.
Sie können gerne telefonisch oder per E-Mail einen Termin mit uns vereinbaren. Wir freuen uns auch dann über Ihren Besuch, wenn Sie sich einfach nur über unsere Arbeit informieren, Sie uns Anregungen geben möchten oder vielleicht sogar Interesse an einer Mitarbeit haben!

Dear colleagues,

We would like to take this opportunity to quickly introduce ourselves and give you an insight into what we do.
The Staff Council plays the role of advocate in all matters related to employee issues in institutions of higher learning, and we provide consulting, counseling, and support to staff members who find themselves in (potentially) difficult situations with regard to their working relationships with supervisors, principal investigators, university management or administrative staff.

For example:

We support you

. . . when it comes to questions and problems arising from conflicts in the workplace (one-to-one counseling and, if necessary, mediation).

We represent your interests and concerns

. . . in not only your immediate work environment (questions pertaining to contract wording and restrictions, personnel issues, etc.), but also at the larger scale in many university committees and working groups, e.g., workplace safety, occupational health management, operational (re)integration management, human resources development, doctoral requirements, and statutes regulating working from home.

We keep you informed

. . . by way of a semi-annual staff assembly in which current topics of concern are presented and discussed in an open forum.
. . . of various important issues via our webpage.

At your request, we will of course take your particular matter of concern into consideration. Needless to say, all consultations and correspondence will remain confidential.
