Dr. Carol Ludwig
Dr. Carol Ludwig works as a research assistant within the Junior Professorship of Human Geography with a European focus in the field of European Social Studies. In addition to her teaching activities, including in the Bachelor of European Studies, she heads a project funded by the BMBF: “Social Cartography” (with a value of 478,835.88 euros). The research project is part of the joint project “Mapping and transforming: Interdisciplinary Accesses to City Maps as a Visual Medium of Urban Transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, 1939-1949” (a four-year project with a total value of over 2 million euros). Dr. Ludwig is both a social geographer and an urban planner (certified by the Royal Town Planning Institute, UK) with practice experience in local and regional government units in the UK and teaching experience as a Lecturer at the Universities of Northumbria and Liverpool, UK. From 2020 to 2023 she worked at the GESIS Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Cologne.
