Since 2023 Jun.Prof. Dr. Carola Fricke is Junior Professor of Human Geography with special focus on Europe. Prior to that, she taught and conducted research at the Institute for Environmental Social Sciences and Geography at the University of Freiburg since 2017. Her research focuses on geographical approaches in urban and metropolitan studies, the geographies of housing and comparative urbanism. In academic teaching, her focus is on dynamics and governance in cities and regions as well as current spatial policies of the European Union. Carola Fricke's research has been published in the following journals, among others: Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space, European Urban and Regional Studies, Territory, Politics and Governance, European Planning Studies. Furthermore, her habilitation project 2020-2023 was funded by the Margarete-von-Wrangell Programme of the State of Baden-Württemberg and the ESF.
