at Saarland University
This year’s anniversary edition of Teachers’ Day covers one and a half days of workshops and presentations on one of the most central notions in current language teaching pedagogy: Genres.
Genres are sets of patterns for written and spoken discourse in specific situations. Enabling learners to recognise these typical patterns in everyday oral interaction or a piece of writing and, in a second step, to apply these patterns in their own language production, provides them with a powerful tool to master any communication situation they encounter.
- teaching written and spoken genres
- intercultural and interpersonal skills through genre-based teaching
- genre-based teaching for students with learning difficulties
- mediation in a genre-based framework
- genre-based teaching in CLIL
There will also be a book exhibition by educational publishers (23rd September, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. and 24th September, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.).
Online registration will be possible as of 15th June 2013. Please note that participants must register by 17th September 2013.
