STUDENT-TEACHING INTERNSHIPS IN IRELAND

We have places in Ireland and Northern Ireland --Dublin, Derry, and Belfast--for interested and well-qualified students. We have a place for one student at Belvedere College Dublin (James Joyce's school) for the February-to-June 2016 term. We have a place for one student at Belfast Royal Academy (one of the premier schools in Ireland) for the September 2016-March 2017 term. We have a place for one student at St. Columb's College (among its graduates, two Nobel laureates--Seamus Heaney and John Hume--as well as such noted writers as Brian Friel and Seamnus Deane, and the musician Phil Coulter) in Derry for the September 2016-March 2017 term.

Creative, Fun & Flexible ‘Marketing & Social Media Internship’ at The Creative Copywriter, London

We would like to take on a student for our exciting internship at the beginning of March, for a 5/6 month period (the time frame is negotiable).

 

The Creative Copywriter is a small company Konrad Sanders set up in 2010 and most of our work is done online and through partnerships with other larger companies. Our copywriters work remotely (not all under one roof) - 2 in London, 1 in the USA and 1 in Poland. So we liaise with each other mostly via email and Skype video calls. With a new business partner, James Mackie, we are also starting 2 exciting new lines of business – illustration and animation – based on the same business model. These 2 new lines of business/brands are what the chosen intern will be focusing on.

University of York, Summer school on British History

The University of York is running a summer school on British History from 3 - 21 August 2015, open only to the students of our partner universities.

 

You are warmly invited to encourage applications from your students to our Centre for Global Programmes for this course. The course will be taught by leading York academics on our campus in the beautiful historic city of York.

 

The course will take students from Roman Britain, through the Viking era, medieval times and into the 18th century. It will include a number of visits to historic sites in Britain.

 

Students will have keynote lectures, discussion groups, and project work. They will study with other students from high quality universities around the world, and be supported by York staff throughout their stay.

 

The total cost per student is £2,000.00 to include tuition, visits and outings, accommodation and meals.

College Contact und die University of Canterbury (UC) im neuseeländischen Christchurch vergeben drei Teilstipendien an Anglistikstudierende, die ab Februar oder Juli 2015 ein Auslandssemester an der UC machen möchten. Die Stipendien haben einen Wert von jeweils NZ 2,000. Für die Vergabe der Stipendien werden neben den Noten aus dem Studium vor allem auch die Motivation der Bewerber sowie ihre Bereitschaft, ihre in Neuseeland gemachten Erfahrungen im Anschluss mit anderen Studierenden zu teilen, in Betracht gezogen. "Erasmus Mundus MULTI"-Stipendium / Scholarship

Ab dem 16.11. haben Studierende zum letzten mal die Chance, sich für ein "Erasmus Mundus MULTI"-Stipendium zu bewerben. EM-MULTI bietet einen sechsmonatigen Aufenthalt an einigen der besten Universitäten in den Industrieländern Südostasiens. Das Stipendium beinhaltet bis 1800€/Monat für die Lebenshaltungskosten und es werden u.a. die Flugkosten, die Auslands-Krankenversicherung und die eventuell anfallenden Studiengebühren an den Gast-Universitäten übernommen.

Bewerben können sich Master-Studierende (und Bachelor-Studierende im letzten Semester), Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden sowie Post-Docs aus den Bereichen Sprach- und Übersetzungswissenschaft, Computerlinguistik, Anglistik und verwandten Disziplinen.

Ich werde eine Informationsveranstaltung halten, um EM-Multi zu präsentieren und besonders um eventuelle Fragen zu beantworten. Diese findet am Do. den 21.11.13 um 16:00 Uhr in Geb. A2 2, R. 209 statt.

This semester will be the last chance for students to apply for an Erasmus Mundus MULTI scholarship. The application period starts on 16 Nov. EM-Multi offers six-month mobility grants for studying or performing research at some of the best universities in South-East Asia. The grant includes up to 1800€/month for living expenses, and it additionally covers return flight, health insurance abroad and tuition fees at the host institution (if applicable).

The application is open for MA students (and advanced undergraduates), PhD students and Post-Docs in the fields of Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies, Computational Linguistics, English and American Studies and related disciplines.

I am holding an information session on Thu 21 Nov. 13 at 4:00pm - Building A2 2, room 209. After a short presentation of the programme, I will be glad to answer students' questions.

Eurocentres has 31 schools worldwide and there are currently 18 members of the Sales & Enrolments department based in London. We are a very multicultural staff with employees from UK, Turkey, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Poland and several other countries but of course all speak English in the office. As you can see from the attached your role would be to support us with administrative duties such as answering the phones, processing student enrolments, organising meetings and producing flyers and other sales material. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the language travel industry and the types of jobs people do and attend sales meetings.

 

We can offer:

  • Three, six, nine, or twelve month work placement in one of our UK schools (London Central, London Lee Green, Brighton, Cambridge, Bournemouth). Ideally we would prefer a minimum of six months.
  • Free accommodation and a small meal allowance. The accommodation choice can be flexible where possible (residence or host family), although we reserve the right to limit accommodation options during peak periods. The London schools also offer a London travel card.
  • A pleasant working environment. Duties similar across all schools (helping out with admin tasks, staffing reception, dealing with customers and suppliers, working on the social programme, etc.).
  • A certificate on completion of the work placement detailing duties and trainee's competencies.
  • A certificate detailing the trainee's language proficiency based on the CEFR.

 

In addition to £100 per week towards you living costs we are also happy to allow you to join afternoon language lessons for 5 hours a week if you wish (our Head office is based in the same building as our central London school).
