Bielefeld questionnaire

on working conditions and health at universities

The Bielefeld questionnaire was developed specifically for surveying employees in the higher education sector and has already been successfully used at 40 universities throughout Germany.

The survey is conducted online and questions are adapted to the different employee groups using filter questions for:

• Professors, junior professors
• Academic employees
• Employees in administration and technical services
• Research assistants

The first part of the survey is about how employees experience their working conditions, for example their immediate working situation, the management culture and the culture of cooperation.

The second part of the survey deals with the impact of experienced working conditions, e.g. on job satisfaction and the health of employees.

After each topic, respondents are asked about any changes they feel are necessary that are relevant to the topic.
