Thu studied pharmacy at the Hanoi University of Pharmacy in Hanoi, Vietnam. She completed her studies with a diploma in 2014. She then taught at the Institute of Pharmacology at the Hanoi College of Technology and Trading in Hanoi, Vietnam from 2014 - 2016. After this activity, she went to study for a master's degree at the University of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in Lyon, France, in 2016, which she successfully completed as a Master of Drug Development in 2018. In 2022, Thu started as a research assistant at the Institute for Biopharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology at Saarland University (UdS) in Saarbrücken, Germany in the Lee research group, where she has continued to work as a PhD student since 2023.
