Laser Microdissection

With the PALM Microbeam LCM Laser dissection System from Zeiss, the facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art microscope for microdissection. This device can be used to select and isolate tissue areas or even single cells from tissue sections for detailed analysis. The microscope features an automated table, so that the user can pre-select all areas of interest in a section  within the software and then collect all areas in one go. The microscope is also equipped with the filters and objectives listed below, so that it is also possible using fluorescent markers for selecting the areas or cells of interest.

Equipment:

  • PALM MicroBeam Lasereinheit MB, Laser, RoboStage II
  • Mikroskopstativ Axio Observer 7
  • UV-Laser und/oder IR-Laser (optische Pinzette)
  • LCM/AxioVision SE64 Rel. 4.9.1 Software
  • Mikroskopie-Kamera Axiocam 506 color
  • Filter: FITC, CY3, DAPI, CY5

The microscope is user operated, i.e. after initial introduction into the operating procedures and safety instructions by our staff, users are able to perform their experiment on their own. Usage fee based on the DFG criteria for class II devices will be applied.
