Dr. Marie-Christine von der Bank wurde in die Herausgeberrunde von mathematik lehren aufgenommen.

Im kommenden Semester erweitert sich das Studienangebot der Fachrichtung druch den neuen Studiengang Versicherungs- und Finanzmathematik.

Prof. Anselm Lambert ist zum 1. Vorsitzenden des MNU Landesverband Saarland e.V. gewählt geworden.

Am 6. Dezember wird Prof. Moritz Weber im Rahmen der diesjährigen Gaußvorlesung der DMV mit dem von Kaven-Ehrenpreis der DFG für hervorragende wissenschaftliche Leistungen ausgezeichnet.

Michael Hartz, zur Zeit Juniorprofessor für Funktionalanalysis in unserer Fachrichtung, wurde in das Emmy Noether-Programm der DFG aufgenommen. Das Emmy Noether-Programm eröffnet herausragend qualifizierten Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und Nachwuchswissenschaftern die Möglichkeit, über einen Zeitraum von sechs Jahren eigenverantwortlich eine Nachwuchsgruppe zu leiten.

Prof. Shilkin is currently a guest in Saarbrücken and offers a lecture on Mathematical Foundations of Fluid Mechanics (see http://www.pdmi.ras.ru/~shilkin/Syllabus_Fluid_Mechanics.pdf for more details).

The lecture is intended for all students with a good knowledge of Analysis 1-3.

The Weihnachtsworkshop 2022 takes place at the Saarland University  from Wednesday, December 14 until Friday, December 16. It is the 20th workshop and as usually we will have a broad range of talks from Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory.
