Prof. Scheller is one of the world's leading experts in the field of interventional cardiology.

Bruno Scheller studied medicine at the University of Saarland, Germany, from 1988 till 1994. Since 1994 he is working as physician at the Clinic for Internal Medicine III, University Hospital of Saarland, Homburg/Saar, Germany, where he is senior consultant for internal medicine, cardiology, and intensive care as well as head of interventional cardiology.

His experience as an interventional cardiologist includes more than 30,000 diagnostic cardiac catheterizations including hemodynamic measurements and intravascular imaging, more than 20,000 coronary interventions including alternative techniques such as atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy, treatment of chronic coronary artery occlusion (CTO) and circulatory support procedures such as Impella and ECMO. In addition, he is fully responsible for the catheter-interventional treatment of structural heart disease such as PFO / ASD closure, LAA closure, TAVI and TEER. He has established and expanded this treatments at the University Hospital.

Prof. Scheller holds the Certification of Interventional Cardiology from the German Cardiac Society (DGK) and is head of the DGK Center for Training in Interventional Cardiology at Saarland University Hospital (Stätte der Zusatzqualifikation Interventionelle Kardiologie). He is head of the DGK TAVI Center at Saarland University Hospital (TAVI Zentrum) and holds the DGK Certification as Heart Failure Specialist. In the Clinic for Internal Medicine III he is Deputy Clinic Director (Leitender Oberarzt).
