SFC – Securing the Financial Cloud

The Securing the Financial Cloud "SFC" project, funded by the BMBF, is pursuing the design and prototypical implementation of a financial cloud. Highly sensitive financial applications are to be transferred securely to a cloud environment. Current research approaches from cryptography such as attribute-based encryption (ABE) are used for this purpose. Together with the University of Paderborn (to which the group belonged at the time of application), employees of the juris endowed chair worked on the IT security architecture, among other things, in this project. We examined the legal conformity of the developed procedures for the SFC project; furthermore, the security architecture had to take into account existing processes and requirements.
