Toxico-Epigenomics

The epigenetic memory of gene regulation in cells may be influenced by the exposure of cells to toxic substances. In a collaborative research program NOTOX (2010-2016) funded by SEURAT and the EU we are investigating the effect of low dose exposure of primary liver cells and liver cell lines to selected toxic substances. In particular we aim to identify DNA-methylation changes using Illumina bead array technologies (450K arrays) and NGS approaches (WGBS using HiSeq2000) in long term (in vitro) exposed cells.
