21st Teachers' Day: Task-Based Learning Extravaganza!

Welcome to the 21st Teachers' Day, where we’ll be Talking Tasks! This year, we're all about those complex, real-life activities that make our learners go, "Wait, this is English class?" From crafting the perfect holiday complaint email (politely savage, of course) to negotiating group projects without descending into chaos to negotiating peace treaties (or at least lunch trades) in the school cafeteria, we're bringing the real world into the classroom.

Our focus? Tasks for learning and tasks for testing in the age of AI. We'll explore how these engaging activities not only boost language skills but also prepare learners for the unpredictable twists and turns of life. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a good plot twist?

But wait, there's more! We'll also tackle the big question: How do we assess these tasks? Fear not, brave educators! We'll provide you with practical strategies to evaluate learner performance in a way that's fair, comprehensive, and maybe even a little fun. Think less "exam panic" and more "show us what you've got!"

Join us for a day of laughter, learning, and a whole lot of English. Because if we're going to teach, we might as well have a blast doing it! That’s not too much to (t)ask, is it?!

Join us in Saarbrücken for the 21st (now biennial) Teachers' Day.

As always, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other teachers and experts both from Germany and abroad. We look forward to welcoming you in October 2025!
