The IVY initiative was established in 2017 by the European Commission and is managed by the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) to promote European Territorial Cooperation, by giving young people the chance to volunteer and contribute through their skills, knowledge and creativity to programmes and projects of Interreg. The initiative therefore enables young people to enhance their impact on European projects and see how European values are lived daily in cross-border projects.
IVY volunteers can choose between two volunteering paths: one being an Interreg Reporter and the other being an Interreg Project Partner. Volunteering options are avaible in all member states of the European Union, its neighbouring countries, countries involved in the Pre-Accession Assistance Cross-border Cooperation Programmes and as well countries involved in Neighbourhood Cross-border Cooperation Programmes.
The IVY programme is set to last for 2 to 6 months of volunteering experience and is financially supported. More information can be found on the website of the IVY initiative (link to external website), where you will also find the current placement offers (link to external website).
