Topic: Mesolimbic modulation of memory and decision-making

Abstract: The mesolimbic dopaminergic system is central to motivated behaviour and modulates cognition through its influences on other brain areas. I will present evidence from functional magnetic resonance imaging and behavioural studies that there is a common neural system for processing different categories of motivational events. This system exerts a modulatory influence on cognitive processes such as long-term memory and decision-making.
